Hanging Monastery – China

Located in the Hunyuan County of Datong, the Hanging Monastery lies at the foot of Mount Hengshan. It hangs on the west cliff of the Jinxia Gorge which is over 50 meters above the ground, thus called Hanging Monastery. Originally constructed in 491, the monastery was largely rebuilt and restored during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) and Qing Dynasty (1644-1911).

The Tallest Bridge in the World

Located in Southern France, the Millau Viaduct is the tallest bridge in the world. Constructed in three short years, the bridge is an engineering and architectural marvel. At its highest point, the bridge soars 343 meters (1,125 ft) above ground, that’s 19 meters (62 ft) taller than the Eiffer Tower!

Earth at Night

This is what the Earth looks like at night. Can you find your favorite country or city? Surprisingly, city lights make this task quite possible. Human-made lights highlight particularly developed or populated areas of the Earth’s surface, including the seaboards of Europe, the eastern United States, and Japan. Many large cities are located near rivers or oceans so that they can exchange goods cheaply by boat. Particularly dark areas include the central parts of South America, Africa, Asia, and Australia. Solar Powered Floating Resort

This unusual project designed by Italian designer and architect Michele Puzzolante. The floating resort, fully self-contained, thanks to acquire a charge of solar energy. Of course, built into the design of the hotel SOLAR solar cells can not always provide enough energy, so the hotel, a yacht in the presence of electrical generators. Also ekonapravlennosti project, we note that the impressive part of the design is made of fiberglass-reinforced high-strength, creating a perfect seal. The maximum capacity of the hotel – six people. It offers: two double rooms and one guest with individual bathrooms, shared kitchen, dining room, small bar, deck, terrace and even a bridge. These balancing rocks in Utah’s Moab Desert formed because wind eroded the lower-down rock layers faster than it eroded the thicker caprock. Because earthquakes can topple these balancing rocks, their presence indicates that an area exhibits tectonic stability.
